Why join the Climate Justice League?
This is a group of students who are very dedicated in improving the social and environmental sustainability of the UO campus and the Eugene community as a whole. Just another green group some might say, but the CJL is about empowering other students to find ways in which they can become stronger leaders themselves, rather than pushing students in radical directions.
From the CJL, a student can find their own passion for the campaign causes, create working groups or campaigns to achieve personal dreams, and build their resume and friendships along the way. As much as one wants to take from the Climate Justice League, is the exact amount that will be given.
Stay Connected
This is a great place to stay connected with environmental and social issues. As a busy student focused on classes, individual research and maintaining something like a social life, it is easy to let topics such as climate change, garden patches in the ocean, recycling, etc., loose their place in our everyday lives. Through CJL, you can learn about different issues on campus and around the world in a supportive and friendly environment.
No life lives alone and this world can not keep being used as it has been for the past couple decades, so together we must live and move forward. The CJL seeks inspiration from the grass roots mindset of starting on the local level with clear goals to spread awareness and interest, starting with the students on campus who take care in the work of progress and change. Word of mouth is mostly how this group has grown.
Students have stepped up to get involved and found many fellow students right alongside them. Staying connected is simple when the CJL is looking for your connection.
