Extra Compost Materials: to speed the process of creating soil and to increase the quality of the soil, a ratio of 1:2:1 of nitrogen: carbon: high nitrogen is recommended when maintaining a compost system

nitrogen = food scraps

carbon = sticks, leaves, woody debris, paper

high nitrogen = coffee grounds, grass clippings
